As a Skadden Fellow at Equal Rights Advocates, Joelle’s work focuses on bringing together litigation, direct services, legislative advocacy, and community education and outreach to combat the sexual harassment and assault of low-wage immigrant women in the workplace.
Prior to joining ERA, Joelle was a law clerk for Judge Michael Daly Hawkins on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge Keith P. Ellison on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Joelle has published two articles on sexual assault victims’ access to emergency contraception in hospital emergency rooms, and she co-authored a guide for immigration attorneys about how to protect the personal information of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Joelle is involved in the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the American Constitution Society (ACS). She is a graduate of Stanford Law School and the University of Southern California.
