
Monali Sheth’s practice focuses on eradicating sex discrimination and unfair treatment against working women. She supports ERA’s Marginalized Women Worker campaign, representing low-wage and immigrant women workers in employment discrimination and related civil rights litigation.
Most recently, she co-chaired a successful jury trial ($812,001 damages award) on behalf of a Latina immigrant janitor in a sexual harassment and retaliation suit against one the largest building services contractors in the country. Prior to joining ERA, Monali practiced business litigation at the law firms of Farella Braun & Martel LLP and Cox Castle & Nicholson LLP in San Francisco.
Monali graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) and was admitted to practice in 2005. Monali earned her M.Sc. in Nationalism and Ethnicity with Distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2001, and her B.A. in Ethnic Studies with Highest Honors and High Distinction in General Scholarship from U.C. Berkeley in 2000.
In addition to her legal work, Monali is a member of the Equity Advisory Committee to the San Francisco Human Rights Commission.
