Work/Pay Sick Days

Equal Rights Advocates is proud to support the California Paid Sick Days bill (AB 2716)

Nearly six million working Californians (that’s 40%) currently receive ZERO paid sick days through their employers.  Too many hardworking Californians are forced to choose between losing a day's wages, or even their jobs, when they or their family members become sick.

It is time to give all workers in California the right to paid sick days.

Assemblymember Fiona Ma (D-San Francisco) has introduced the California Paid Sick Days bill (AB 2716) that allows all California workers to earn and use paid sick days for personal illness, to care for a sick family member, and to recover from domestic violence or sexual assault.

Did you know that the majority of Californians support paid sick days? A recent poll conducted by UCLA professor Ruth Milkman shows that 88% of Californians - including 76% of Republicans, 92% of Democrats and 88% of independents - support a new law guaranteeing a minimum number of paid sick days for all California workers.

Equal Rights Advocates is proud to support the California Paid Sick Days bill (AB 2716) through our partnership with the California Work and Family Coalition.  And, we need your help.
