A veteran litigator who was lead attorney in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission v. Morgan Stanley, a class case alleging sex discrimination in pay and promotion that eventually settled for $54 million dollars, Michelle joins Equal Rights Advocates with extensive experience in class action suits.

Michelle began her EEOC career in the Chicago district office by working on the landmark Sexual Harassment suit, EEOC v. Mitsubishi. She soon rose to the rank of senior trial attorney and worked on the high profile pregnancy discrimination case against Bloomberg LP.

Prior to joining ERA, she served as litigation director at Legal Momentum, where she advanced the nonprofit’s policy initiatives and impact litigation docket on behalf of women and girls.  Her particular areas of focus included women working in non-traditional fields, pregnancy discrimination and domestic violence.

Michelle earned her law degree from the University of Iowa College of the Law, and practices yoga in her spare time.
