SF Chronicle: Court: Employers can’t set different pay for men and women doing same job

ERA Senior Counsel for Workplace Justice & Public Policy Jessica Stender spoke with The Chronicle about the historic equal pay decision from a federal appeals court which said prior salary cannot be used to justify a wage gap between men and women under the federal Equal Pay Act. The en banc decision from the Ninth Circuit court came on the eve of Equal Pay Day, and is being celebrated as a major victory for fair pay and gender justice advocates nationwide.
