We Stand in Solidarity with Women Leaders in CA Politics

October 30, 2017 | by

On October 16, 2017, a group of women leaders in California politics issued a powerful Op-Ed, covered by the LA Times along with this story, launching We Said Enough to protest the culture of pervasive and persistent sexual harassment in the California Capitol. Since then, hundreds of women and men have signed the Op-Ed.

Equal Rights Advocates joins the undersigned advocacy organizations across the state and country to stand in strong solidarity with the We Said Enough movement and the brave Capitol staff, political consultants, and lobbyists who lead it. We are immensely proud to work every day with incredible women leaders in government to fight for women, girls, and families. Sexual harassment has no place in any industry, and it is especially reprehensible in the very place that is tasked with upholding the state’s values and ensuring workers’ rights to a safe workplace in all industries. We are committed to supporting the women leaders of Sacramento until real, systemic changes are made.

Learn more about We Said Enough and read stories of women who have experienced harassment and violence in the capitol on their website and on Twitter.
