ERA Legal Fellow Kel O’Hara will present at the annual conference of the CA Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare & Attendance. Kel will present with Aaron Boe, MS, Ed., and Karen Bell, Esq.

The presentation is titled “Courageous Care: Re-Examining Prevention & Response to Student Harassment and Dating Violence,” and will take place the first day of the conference, April 26, from 2:45-4:00 p.m.

Description: Helping middle and high school students develop healthy relationships requires a proactive prevention framework that instills both a commitment to ethical conduct and a willingness to take responsibility for behavioral lapses. This approach not only helps make sexual harassment and assault less likely but normalizes restorative practices, setting the stage for more survivor-focused responses when harm occurs. We will provide a view from the trenches, discussing the types of conduct we are called into address, and equip you with a developmental approach that targets the attitudes and behaviors that matter most.
