The New York Times’ Parenting section featured ERA Senior Counsel for Workplace Justice & Public Policy Jessica Stender in an interactive piece giving advice about asking about maternity or paternity leave if your company doesn’t have an official policy.

Jessica gives practical advice:

The 12 weeks have to be within the first year of birth, adoption, or fostering,” she said. “You can take a few weeks, go back, do a week on and off, take a month, or take one day off per week.
