#LGBTQIAEqualPay Awareness Day

Join us online!

This year, ERA’s national project Equal Pay Today! is partnering with coalition members to raise awareness around the lack of wage gap data for LGBTQIA+ communities. On Wednesday, June 16, we will highlight the disparities LGBTQIA+ communities face when it comes to housing, poverty, and general scarcity.

Join us to raise awareness about the wage gap experienced by LGBTQIA+ folks and its disproportionate impact on LGBTQIA+ people of color. We will also be exploring how pay discrimination shows up in workplace and the impacts of COVID-19. This Awareness Day is part of the Pride Week of Action, which you can find more information about here.

Raise awareness about #LGBTQIAEqualPay with us in two ways Wednesday, June 16:

Use the hashtags #LGBTQIAEqualPay and #CountUsIn to help us raise awareness about the wage gap and its impact on LGBTQIA+ communities. Use the social media toolkit linked above to engage in a robust online dialogue with advocates and community members across the nation.

  • Post a 10-15 second video in support of #LGBTQIAEqualPay

During the Twitterstorm, we encourage you to post a 10-15 second video of yourself as either a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or an ally/supporter. Mention why equal pay matters for LGBTQIA+ communities, and hold up a handwritten sign that says #CountUsIn. If you identify as an ally, feel free to add #Ally to your sign! When you post the video, make sure to tag @equalpay2dayorg and @equalrightsadv!
